As an Accounts Assistant, you will provide support across a range of accounting tasks, including invoicing, bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, and financial reporting. Your role will be vital in ensuring the smooth operation of the finance department and maintaining accurate financial records.

Responsibilities:
* Process and reconcile incoming and outgoing invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
* Assist with the preparation of payment runs and ensure timely payments to suppliers.
* Track and manage outstanding accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of payments.
* Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
* Record financial transactions in the CRM and maintain up-to-date ledgers.
* Assist in processing monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
* Assist with the preparation of payroll, ensuring all employee records are accurate and up-to-date.
* Verify employee hours, deductions, and expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
* Reconcile bank statements, ensuring all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are identified and resolved.
* Prepare monthly financial reports for senior management, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
* Support the preparation and filing of VAT returns and other tax filings.
* Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and assist with tax-related queries.
* Provide general administrative support to the finance team as required.
* Assist with the preparation of financial documentation for audits and other reviews.
* Maintain organised and accurate filing systems for all financial records.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in an accounts assistant or similar role is desirable.
* A basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
* Familiarity with accounting software.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with large amounts of financial data.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* A relevant qualification in accounting or finance (e.g., AAT) is a plus but not required.
