HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Office of Student Success is seeking to hire an Assistant Director to help lead the University Advisement Center Perimeter College Online team. Successful candidates will be forward-thinking, solution-oriented individuals who are willing to find innovative ways to improve graduation rates. The selected candidates will perform supervisory duties (hire, train, evaluate) and serve a student population for an academic college or advisement unit.
Essential Job Functions:
* Perform supervisory duties such as hiring and evaluating staff, and training them based on university policies and procedures.
* Work with department chairs and other college/unit to ensure best practices are in place to support student success.
* Advise prospective and current students about academic requirements and course selection.
* Evaluate and maintain student records for degree requirements.
* Serve as a liaison to other campus advising units to implement advisement plans.
* Review student petitions and write correspondence as needed.
* Participate in New Student Orientation for Online students.
* Plan and participate in New Advisor Training.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and three years of supervisory/management experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
Master’s degree and 5 years’ experience working with student retention or student affairs programs; experience leading academic and retention processes/projects; excellent communication skills; proficiency with data tools.
