A LifeWise teacher will combine in-depth Bible knowledge and outstanding teaching abilities to share the gospel with churched and unchurched public school students in a classroom setting. Our ideal candidate is an active church member with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is caring, perceptive, and proficient in teaching children.
Qualifications and Experience
1. A minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience (with students) in a school or church setting
2. Complete the LifeWise Teacher Certification Course prior to teaching
3. Participate in the annual LifeWise Summit each year
4. Attend at least one Teachers' Lounge and one LifeWise Meet-Up per year
5. Stay up to date on training and updates by regularly checking LifeWise email
6. Implement the LifeWise curriculum in the classroom
7. Invest in building relationships with students and praying for them regularly
8. Create and manage a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment through various teaching strategies and discipline that is redemptive in nature
9. Utilize LifeWise policies, procedures, and resources
10. Maintain Records
11. Take attendance in each class and provide attendance records to LifeWise program director and/or school officials as needed
12. Maintain accurate class rosters including health concerns and special needs of students as noted on parent permission slips
13. Prepare adequate information and materials for a substitute teacher as needed
14. Maintain the Classroom
15. Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-ordered classroom
16. Know procedures for dealing with emergency situations
17. Purchase classroom supplies as needed using funds provided by program director
18. Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community
19. Attend annual school open house and other outreach events as available
20. Maintain ongoing dialogue with school personnel to stay apprised of class schedule changes and ensure student well-being
21. Build relationships with volunteers and keep them apprised of schedule changes
22. Submit regular updates, stories, and photos to program director
23. Promote and communicate LifeWise's religious mission in all duties and interactions, ensuring alignment with the organization's core values and beliefs
