We’re looking for two enthusiastic and energetic Business Support Officers to join Hastings District Council, in our Asset Management Group and Planning & Regulatory Group. These roles are essential to ensuring smooth and efficient processes within each group and offer the opportunity to work in a focused area, whether it’s supporting infrastructure management or assisting with regulatory compliance.
As a Business Support Officer in the Asset Management Group, you’ll be part of the Business Support team, providing administrative assistance to teams managing assets across the district. You’ll coordinate information, prepare documents, and help ensure the seamless operation of essential services.
As a Business Support Officer in the Planning & Regulatory Group, you’ll provide vital clerical support to functions including Building Services, Environmental Consents, Compliance, Animal Control, and more. Your duties will involve processing legal documents, managing building compliance tasks, and supporting animal control processes.

The ideal candidates will have:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
* Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
* Strong interpersonal skills and a sense of humor.
* Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
In these roles, you will:
* Provide essential administrative support across either the Asset Management or Planning & Regulatory groups.
* Prepare, track, and process legal documents within required timeframes (e.g., compliance certificates, environmental health documents, dog registrations).
* Manage invoicing, refunds, and other financial tracking.
* Maintain and update key databases and assist with reporting requirements.
