We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate dental therapist to join Plymouth Community Dental Service (PCDS), part of Livewell Southwest.
This specialist led community dental service provides dental care across a wide range of dental disciplines and provides an interesting and exciting place to work.
This post will join the therapist team and will undertake relevant treatment under prescription from clinicians for patients seen by the service, which includes children and adult with special needs (including medically compromised). The post holder would be required to be qualified in inhalation sedation. Promotion of good oral health messaging is a key element of this role. Support with epidemiology surveys on behalf of Public Health England may also be part of this position.

Job responsibilities
Provide a full range of dental treatments in accordance with General Dental Council Scope of practice for Therapists - under the prescription of Dentists.
Treatment of patients using inhalation sedation
Liaising with dentists re treatment plans if necessary.
Administration associated with Clinical work.
Participation in Intermediate Life Support & Medical Emergency training
May be required to participate in Epidemiology surveys and other related Oral Health promotions
* Provision of services on more than one site as dictated by service requirements.
* Take part in personal development and appraisal.
* Take part in clinical audit, peer review and any other clinical governance requirements.
* Undertake appropriate Continuing Professional Development relevant to the requirements of the service.
* This post involves working with children and vulnerable adults and will require a Criminal Record Board check.

Qualifications
* Full GDC registration
* Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Therapy or equivalent.
* RA sedation trained
