What you will do:
1. Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for children and young people with various communication needs.
2. Deliver tailored therapy interventions to enhance communication, interaction, and language development.
3. Collaborate with teachers, occupational therapists, psychologists, and care staff to ensure a seamless, holistic approach.
4. Develop and promote communication-friendly strategies and environments within the setting.
5. Provide training, advice, and support to families, carers, and other professionals involved in the care of the young individuals.
6. Monitor and review therapy plans regularly, adapting interventions to meet changing needs.
7. Maintain thorough clinical documentation and reports in line with professional standards.
8. Participate in service development initiatives and engage actively in team meetings and supervision sessions.
Requirements:
1. HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist.
2. Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or an equivalent recognised qualification.
3. Proven experience working with children and young people aged 7-19 in a paediatric setting.
4. Strong understanding of various speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).
5. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
6. A commitment to person-centred care within a therapeutic and educational framework.
7. Experience in integrated education or residential settings.
8. Familiarity with alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) tools and techniques.
