We are looking for a dedicated and driven Paraplanner to join a team of Financial Planning experts, working at a National IFA in the heart of Wakefield.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to advance their career in financial planning, work closely with experienced Financial Planners, and gain exposure to investment strategies and compliance-related activities. This company will support you with your exams and progress towards Financial Advisory status.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with a nominated Financial Planner(s) to ensure client files are compliant and suitability reports are well-crafted.
* Prepare and complete annual suitability review letters, addressing any queries or concerns with the Financial Planner(s).
* Assist in maintaining research for the firm’s central investment proposition alongside the Investment Committee and Paraplanning Supervisor.
* Maintain accurate data within the firm’s CRM system.
* Act as the primary point of contact for a nominated Financial Planner(s), providing regular updates on the progress of each case.
* Ensure client files are fully compliant by verifying that all paperwork is present and accurate, risk profiles are determined, and client circumstances are documented.
* Conduct research independently and with the Financial Planner to identify the best solutions for clients' needs.
* Assess the suitability of clients’ existing portfolios, considering factors like asset allocation, risk profile, costs, and performance.
* Communicate with providers to gather all necessary plan information for advice formulation.
* Prepare draft suitability reports based on the agreed recommendations, ensuring all research and documentation meet FCA and regulatory requirements.
* Support the completion of ad-hoc tasks and maintain positive relationships with colleagues across departments.
Experience & Qualifications Required:
* Level 4 Financial Planning Diploma (CII preferred, but not essential).
* 2+ years’ experience working as a Paraplanner.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Intelligent Office expertise (Desirable)
* Strong independent work ethic
* Strong IT skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
* Experience in working remotely and maintaining strong working relationships with remote colleagues.
