Maintenance Supervisor required for a market leading manufacturer who are growing and investing. They are a successful independent company offering a personable working environment along with opportunities for training and progression.
The successful Maintenance Supervisor will need to have a formal engineering qualification to at least City & Guilds, ONC/HNC or equivalent and experience of supervising / managing a team.
The role will centre on managing, leading and supervising a team of engineers as they develop, test, modify, and create solutions to technical problems. A key element of the role is to manage, coach and mentor direct reports including Apprentices by modelling best practise and demonstrating how to complete tasks effectively and efficiently.
You will oversee and manage all maintenance engineering activities whilst on shift. This includes supporting the Lead Engineer to ensure that maximum uptime is achieved by using exacting engineering standards in the most efficient ways possible and that best practise is used.
The Maintenance Supervisor Role:
• Oversee and manage all maintenance engineering activities whilst on shift.
• Managing, leading and supervising a team of engineers as they develop, test, modify, and create solutions to technical problems.
• Modelling best practise and demonstrating how to complete tasks effectively and efficiently.
• Ensure that maximum uptime is achieved by using exacting engineering standards in the most efficient ways possible.
• Aiding the Engineering Manager in ensuring engineering solutions are put in place to permanently fix breakdowns/failures and that the root cause is identified and addressed.
• Ensuring continuous improvement with regards to planned preventative maintenance (PPM). This includes reporting on the overall effectiveness of the system, ensuring PPM targets are met and that each planned maintenance is scheduled at appropriate times, effectively completed and closed.
• Undertaking and assuming responsibility for key elements of engineering projects and ensuring all tasks are completed on time, as instructed by the senior engineering management team.
• Ensuring that all procedures relating to health and safety are employed by all engineering personnel and contractors, and confirming this is done by auditing processes and procedures.
• Providing training and ad hoc guidance and support to engineers and engineering apprentices to increase their skills and knowledge base.
The Successful Maintenance Supervisor:
• The successful Maintenance Supervisor will need to have a formal engineering qualification to at least City & Guilds, ONC/HNC or an equivalent level.
