Job summary
The Community Therapy Team for Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch are looking to recruit a Band 6 Physiotherapist/ Occupational Therapist to provide maternity leave cover. We are able to offer flexibility with both full time and part time working options considered until November 2025.
This is an excellent opportunity if you are an experienced band 5 and are looking for developmental band 6 experience, or if you are already working as a band 6 therapist and are looking for a new opportunity or wish to enhance your skills and experience working in the community.
We offer employment in a dynamic team, of Rehabilitation Assistants, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, including Band 7 Clinical Specialists, and two Band 7 Team Leads. We are experts in Community Rehabilitation, and have areas of defined specialisms; Neuro-Medical Therapists, and Falls, Trauma, and Orthopaedic (FTO) Therapists which enables highly specialist knowledge, therapy and skills throughout the community. The Community Therapy Team is also very proactive with service and quality improvement projects and opportunities.
This is a fixed term role and for those with current NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please obtain permission to be released on a secondment before submitting an application.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will gain excellent knowledge and experience within a highly supportive team. They will benefit from regular in-service training, and support through supervision and Professional Development Reviews, and contribute to the training and support of junior staff and rehabilitation assistants.
You will be required to carry a clinical caseload of either Neuro-Medical patients, or Falls/Trauma/Orthopaedic patients, providing rehabilitation in homes and care homes, ensuring that patients benefit from high quality, evidence based interventions, which you will deliver and record according to professional standards and legal requirements.
You will require a car for use at work, to enable you to work autonomously in the community to visit patients, whilst adhering to local and Trust guidance on lone working.
