About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of French to join a vibrant Modern Foreign Languages department located in Luton. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic linguist to inspire and engage students in the beauty and importance of learning French, helping them develop their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
As a Teacher of French, you will deliver dynamic and engaging lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5, and will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the French curriculum. This is a fantastic role for someone who is committed to supporting students in their language learning journey and who wants to make a difference in their academic and cultural development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teach French to students across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and potentially Key Stage 5, ensuring that lessons are engaging, challenging, and inclusive.
2. Develop and implement a comprehensive French curriculum that inspires students to appreciate and excel in the language.
3. Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and ensuring high standards of achievement.
4. Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional learning needs.
5. Create an interactive and supportive classroom environment that encourages students to develop their confidence in speaking and understanding French.
6. Promote the cultural aspects of the French language, including literature, history, and traditions, enhancing students' understanding of French-speaking countries.
7. Contribute to the extra-curricular life of the school, such as organising French clubs, language trips, and cultural events.
8. Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Modern Foreign Languages department to share best practices and contribute to curriculum development.
9. Foster a positive relationship with students, encouraging a love for language learning and personal growth.
Requirements:
1. A degree in French, Modern Languages, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2. QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent is essential.
3. Experience teaching French at secondary school level (Key Stage 3 and 4). Experience with Key Stage 5 is desirable but not essential.
4. Strong subject knowledge of French language and culture.
5. A passion for teaching French and inspiring students to appreciate foreign languages.
6. Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to create an inclusive, supportive, and dynamic learning environment.
8. A commitment to your own professional development as a teacher.
