Great Bear is a leading 3rd party UK logistics business providing nationwide dedicated and shared user warehousing and distribution solutions for international blue chip clients. Job Description
Joining Great Bear as an Assistant Management Accountant, you will be responsible for undertaking a number of weekly and monthly financial reporting tasks.
Key Duties
* Production of the weekly costings for a number of operations run from our customer-focused sites
* Preparation of Management Accounts including posting journals
* Investigation and explanation of variances in the Management Accounts
* Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Support with the production of the monthly review pack of financial and operational management information for discussion with customers at review meetings
* Invoice and credit control customers and update the Company cash forecast
* Review supplier invoices against their purchase orders and assist in the authorisation process
* Deal with site suppliers including self-billing subcontract hauliers on a weekly basis
* Assist with the annual budget process
* Assist with quarterly forecasting
* Collate and issue various internal reporting
* Support the finance team with ad-hoc projects
* Filing and admin to support the accounts team as required
Qualifications
* Part qualified accountant (AAT, CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
* Highly proficient in using IT, including MS Office and accounts software
* Excel is a key management information tool, a sound knowledge of spreadsheet writing and analysis of data is essential
* Experienced in accounts preparation, including journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation and income deferral
* Good communicator at all levels including, operational warehouse and transport managers and staff, customers, suppliers and other internal staff
* Good team-player with the drive to see tasks through to completion and meet deadlines set
* Inquisitive in nature with the ability to take initiative, looking for constant development and improvement of procedures
* Excellent attention to detail, with high levels of accuracy
* Have the ability to take on further responsibility and progress into a Management Accountant role
