You will take responsibility for encouraging all our members to improve their general health and fitness as well as managing our state-of-the-art gym on behalf of our residents and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities:
Gym management:
1. Ensuring opening and closing procedures are carried out with specific emphasis on checking and documenting the maintenance and safety of all equipment.
2. Providing fitness assessments, consultations, and introduction sessions to each member and where possible creating personal exercise programs as required, giving advice on healthy lifestyles.
3. Undertaking the Exercise on Referral training.
4. Setting up and running courses/classes and to undertake training to meet the demands of users, instruct classes as and when required.
Marketing and Promotion:
1. Marketing and promoting memberships and classes to potential members.
2. Developing and leading marketing and promotions of the health & fitness facilities.
3. Be involved in all social activities and promotions with other team members, assisting in the organization and efficient running of events.
Health & Safety:
1. Taking responsibility for the cleanliness of the facilities.
2. Carrying out regular tests on the pool and steam room.
3. Removing any faulty or broken equipment from use.
4. Being fully aware of the Pool, Gymnasium, Steam Room, and communal policy and procedures ensuring that these are adhered to.
5. Undertaking pool safety and water hygiene checks and recording all results per procedures.
Key Requirements:
1. Instructor or Coaching qualification(s) to Level 3 standards to lead group classes.
2. Experience working with a diverse range of customers, ideally the over 55’s.
3. Working knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation.
4. Willingness to adopt a flexible approach to working patterns to respond to the changing needs of the village.
Working Hours:
1. This is a full-time opportunity where the Gym Instructor will work 37.5 hours per week; 5 over 7 days between the hours of 9:00am and 7:00pm.
