The Role
We are currently looking for an experienced Project Delivery Manager with a technical background and understanding to join our team.
As the Project Delivery Manager, you will report into the Project Delivery Lead and be responsible for ensuring the successful planning, execution and delivery of projects across the Project Delivery team, particularly within the defence and national security sectors. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering medium and large-scale complex technical projects, optimising processes and driving continuous improvement.
You will oversee and lead the end-to-end delivery process, from acceptance into planning, execution and reporting, ensuring they are completed to agreed timescales, within scope and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, fostering strong relationships, including senior management, developers, vendors and clients.

Role Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Project Planning and Execution:
o Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
o Develop detailed project plans, specifying technical tasks, schedules, and resource requirements.
o Oversee the project life cycle, including planning, execution, testing, delivery and service transition phases.
o Ensure that project deliverables meet the defined requirements and quality standards.
2. Team Coordination:
o Lead cross-functional project teams, including developers, engineers, quality assurance, and business stakeholders.
o Facilitate project stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
o Foster a collaborative environment, ensuring clear communication and alignment among team members.
3. Stakeholder Management:
o Serve as the primary point of contact between the technical team and business stakeholders.
o Provide regular project updates and progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
o Manage expectations by effectively communicating project timelines, risks, and dependencies.
4. Risk and Issue Management:
o Proactively identify and monitor project risks, issues, and roadblocks, developing mitigation strategies.
o Escalate critical issues to senior leadership through escalation processes when necessary.
o Maintain a risk register and track mitigation efforts.
5. Technical Expertise:
o Apply a strong understanding of technical concepts to guide project teams and stakeholders.
o Ensure alignment of technical solutions with overall business and technical strategies.
o Assist in technical decision-making and provide direction to engineering teams.
6. Budget and Resource Management:
o Manage project budgets, ensuring that expenses are within the allocated resources.
o Track and report financials, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
o Optimize the use of internal and external resources, including vendor and contractor management.
o Control and Manage budget deviation through change processes in line with commercial delegated authority thresholds.
7. Quality Assurance and Testing:
o Ensure that quality control processes are implemented and adhered to throughout the project.
o Collaborate with quality assurance and testing teams to validate deliverables.
o Ensure that testing cycles and feedback loops are completed before project launches.
8. Post-Project Evaluation:
o Conduct project lessons learnt and continual improvement workshops to assess successes, challenges, and areas for enhancements.
o Document and share lessons learned and best practices for future projects.
Provide ongoing support and oversight for launched projects, ensuring smooth transitions to operational teams.
Education and Experience Requirements
As the Project Delivery Manager, you will have:
* Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a proven history operating within the technology sector.
* Project Management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner).
* Desired ITIL4 Foundation
* Security Clearance to SC or DV. Willing to go through process with successful outcome required.
* Experience:
o 5+ years of experience in project management, with a proven track record of success in delivering technology projects within defence or national security/infrastructure sectors.
o Proven success in delivering technology projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
Experience working with Waterfall and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools (Jira, Confluence, Trello, etc.)
UKSV is required for this position. Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain SC clearance, with a view to obtaining UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance as required.
To be eligible for UKSV you must be a UK National and/or have been a UK Resident for 5+ years.
