We are on the lookout for an Assistant Site Manager to join our extremely reputable client. They are a Main Contractor who have a great relationship with the Oxford Uni and win plenty of work on the back of that relationship, while also monopolising a lot of the big schemes (Sheds, Student Accom, Life Sciences etc) in and around Oxfordshire.
The role will form part of the site management team and will involve helping to ensure that projects are delivered safely, timely and to budget. You will hold responsibility for assisting the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of the site and all the sub-contractors on site. Typical roles & responsibilities will include:
* Ensure that the programme deadlines are achieved.
* Assist the contractors and subcontractors to ensure they have a full understanding of the required program dates.
* Ensure that all building operations are carried out in line with current health and safety standards and that all method statements and risk assessments have been reviewed and checklists completed.
* Assist with conducting and monitoring tool box meetings, health & safety training, including site inductions and site training are conducted as necessary.
* Ensure that all works are carried out to the highest standards of quality.
* Assess the quality of work at all stages.
This is a business that rarely go out to hire externally for Senior roles and have a constant flow of Trainees that are filtered into the company through their management trainee course.
