We have an opportunity to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic, and highly skilled leader of Humanities, ideally with a subject specialism of Geography, after the promotion of the current head of faculty. The successful candidate will be capable of planning and delivering a high-quality curriculum for all children. We wish to appoint an outstanding leader, skilled in the leadership of larger teams, to continue the successful journey of the faculty. The Head of faculty in Humanities will also be the subject lead for Geography as well as line managing the head of History and RE.
The Fernwood School has a long tradition of excellence in Geography, History and Religious Studies and we are highly ambitious for their future growth and development. The Humanities faculty is a thriving and talented team who work collaboratively to deliver a carefully sequenced and well-planned curriculum utilising the latest teaching and learning strategies.
The right candidate must have a proven track record for achieving excellence beyond their own classroom and possess the skills and qualities to drive their colleagues forward. Alongside being a dynamic leader, the successful candidate must be a passionate subject teacher, with a strong pedagogical knowledge.
The Humanities Faculty consists of 14 teaching staff each with their own subject specialism. They are committed to providing all students with the opportunities to thrive in subject fluency and are experts in the creation of engaging lessons both in and out of the classroom.
