An exciting opportunity has risen to join the Flood and Coastal Risk Management Team to support the delivery of Cardiff Council’s statutory duties as the Sustainable Drainage Approval Body (SAB).
About the job
The successful candidate will work with the SAB team who are responsible for the delivery of our Sustainable Drainage Approval function under Schedule 3 of The Flood and Water Management Act 2010.
Duties include the vetting and inspection of applications for Sustainable Drainage Approval ensuring developments are constructed in accordance with statutory standards.
This role will involve a high level of interaction with stakeholders, including Council Members, the public, contractors, external organisations, and other Council departments. The post holder may be required to work outside normal hours from time to time, including evenings and weekends.
What We Are Looking For From You
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic individual who has the ability to take responsibility for the management of challenging and unique projects and improve flood risk throughout the city.
Qualified to a degree level in a relevant discipline, or similar qualification in civil engineering, or be able to demonstrate equivalent professional work experience in this discipline.
Comply with all required legislative and Health and Safety obligations and Council policies and procedures.
Participate, on an ‘out of hours’ stand-by rota.
