We are looking for enthusiastic pharmacists to join our team of Clinical Rotational Pharmacists. Our excellent programme offers a diverse range of development opportunities for pharmacists with an interest in honing their clinical knowledge, as well as taking strives into leadership and management opportunities.
Our team of Clinical Rotational Pharmacists participate in 12 month rotations working across all 5 divisions within the trust giving the post holder the opportunity to experience an unrivaled breadth of clinical pharmacy practice and professional development.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide an advanced clinical pharmacy service to ward(s) within specialist area.
2. To deliver designated performance objectives specific to the allocated rotation area(s).

Qualifications
Essential
1. Masters level degree in pharmacy.
2. Post-graduate preregistration year.
3. Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council.
4. Completed Certificate (Year 1) of Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy/General Pharmacy Practice and studying for completion of year.
Desirable
1. Completed year 1 and year 2 of Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy/General Pharmacy Practice.
2. MSc in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent).
3. Qualified and registered as an Independent prescriber.
4. Risk management training.
5. Professional and final accuracy checking.
Knowledge
Essential
1. Good clinical knowledge of drugs and therapeutic trends within general medicine and surgery.
2. Knowledge of NICE and NPSA guidance and subsequent examples of local implementation.
3. Knowledge of Health care systems and NHS changes.
4. Computer literate with experience of Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
5. Familiar with the use of a range of visual aids for teaching.
6. Pharmacy computer systems training.
Experience
Essential
1. Moderate post-registration hospital experience including prescription screening in inpatients/outpatients, medicines reconciliation, medicines information, experience of preparative services either TPN/chemotherapy.
2. Experienced clinical pharmacist who has covered a range of specialities. Medicine including elderly care, acute medicine, and including specialist medicine and Surgery including general surgery and other surgical specialities.
3. Documentation in medical notes.
4. Writing or assisting in writing drug policies and guidelines/PGD development.
5. Evidence of having conducted a clinical audit.
Desirable
1. Recent post-registration hospital experience, ideally including previous experience in a teaching hospital and experience of more than one hospital.
2. Experienced clinical pharmacist (at band 7).
3. Evidence of having written pharmaceutical and/or educational publications.
4. Experience as a personal tutor to a range of staff groups.
5. Drug expenditure analysis and reporting.
6. Horizon scanning.
