Job description About the MPP Team: The MPP Commercial team lead the sourcing, procurement and subsequent contract management activity across the full Commercial Life Cycle. This is across an exciting and diverse portfolio of multi-million pound construction Programmes and Projects across the UK Defence Estate. The MPP team comprises over 25 staff and is divided into five portfolios, each led by a Commercial Lead. As an Associate Commercial Lead, you will lead the creation and implementation of commercial strategies for projects within an existing programme pipeline to provide a resilient and efficient infrastructure across the MODs estate, to meet project goals, minimising risk and accounting for Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). This involves improving performance through our strategic supplier relationships that are supporting critical operations across our Armed Forces. Person specification As an Associate Commercial Lead in the MPP team: You will have experience within a Commercial background in the delivery of high value, complex projects, preferably within a Construction, Infrastructure based or similar environment and comfortable with best practice asset management techniques. You will be pro-active, crafting a sense of purpose, whilst focusing on good customer management to develop and promote collaboration across organisational boundaries, different phases of the commercial life-cycle, using NEC3/4 Contracting models. You will support key sourcing activities to meet project goals optimising risk and ensuring value for money is considered as well as bringing creativity to solve operational challenges on a sound Commercial basis. You will have the responsibility for ensuring adherence to and conformity with public procurement and DIO/MoD processes and operating procedures, particularly those which are detailed under the key defence infrastructure process for Commercial and relate to end project management.
