Cranleigh STEM & Sustainability have partnered with a leading consultancy dedicated to driving sustainability in the built environment. Theyare seeking a Senior Building Physics Consultant to join their growing team.
The Role
This role offers the opportunity to provide expert technical and strategic advice across a range of building physics services, including:
* Thermal Comfort & Overheating Assessments
* Building Regulations Compliance (SAP/SBEM)
* Thermal Bridging Analysis
* Energy Strategy and Energy Statements
* Daylight, Sunlight & Overshadowing Studies
* Internal Daylight Modelling
* Low and Zero Carbon (LZC) Feasibility Studies
* Operational Energy Modelling (TM54)
You’ll work closely with design teams on high-profile projects, ensuring best practice in building physics and sustainability. Additionally, you’ll contribute to producing high-quality reports, managing key client accounts, and fostering long-term client relationships.
Key Skills & Experience
* 3-5 years’ experience in the construction industry (e.g. sustainability consultancy, architecture, planning, M&E, or related fields)
* A relevant degree in Engineering, Physics, Maths, Sustainability, or a related discipline
* Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and planning policies
* Experience with industry design software, including IES VE, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and CFD
* Familiarity with GLA planning requirements
* Experience in overheating/daylight assessments and thermal bridging analysis
* Proficiency in IES Apache HVAC for detailed energy modelling
* Experience using CAD software (e.g. SketchUp, Rhino, Grasshopper) and Radiance/Ladybug tools
