Electrical Design/Control and Instrumentation Engineer
Location: Reading/Aldermaston - 2/3 days working onsite
Start: ASAP - Subject to clearance transfer
Duration: 12 Months
Hours: 9 day working pattern
Clearance: The ideal candidate will have DV clearance. The client is open to reviewing candidates with SC, however there is a strong preference for DV clearance.
The role
Deliver electrical, control, and instrumentation designs for the Facility Design Authority (FDA) to ensure utilities, infrastructure, engineering processes, equipment, and facilities comply with relevant legislation, standards, and engineering design requirements across the facility lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
* Produce high-quality electrical, control, and instrumentation designs that meet defined requirements across the entire engineering lifecycle.
* Maintain design intent throughout the lifecycle by collaborating with other disciplines to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
* Ensure compliance with Company Assurance policies, including Environment, Safety, Health, and Quality (ESH&Q), as well as statutory regulations.
* Apply standards appropriately and adopt engineering best practices to deliver effective solutions.
* Escalate any areas of concern to the designated Principal Engineer
Qualifications
* ONC / OND or equivalent in electrical engineering or other related discipline.
* HNC / HND or equivalent in electrical engineering or other related discipline.
Skills:
* Working knowledge of legislation and standards applicable to electrical engineering.
* Competent in standard office software, and engineering tools and applications.
* Knowledge of legislation and standards associated with nuclear and / or high hazard facilities.
Experience:
* Producing control and instrumentation designs as part of a multi-discipline design team.
* Experience of working in a highly regulated environment (preferably nuclear and / or explosives).
