An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Student Counsellor/Therapist to join the Mental Health and Wellbeing Team. The Counselling service currently offers Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Person-Centred Counselling, within a focussed short-term intervention framework. The team offers individual support in person and online. The Team’s practice is influenced by the Service’s membership of the BACP.
Minimum Requirements
Educated to degree level or equivalent, with a professional postgraduate qualification in a relevant counselling or psychotherapeutic discipline. The ideal candidate will have worked in a similar role in student support in higher education and will have a proven track record in the delivery of individual therapeutic interventions. Knowledge and awareness of issues relating to mental health and mental health needs is essential, along with an ability to formulate appropriate therapeutic interventions according to clients’ mental health presentations and to liaise and build effective relationships with internal and external representatives of other disciplines or agencies.
