Job title: Senior Designer - Mechanical

What you will be doing:
* You will be directly supporting our World Class Submarines by producing 3D models of either Pipe routes, HVAC systems or mechanical compartment arrangements using the CAD toolset.
* Your responsibilities will also include producing 2D drawings and electronic data and BoM item development to a fast-paced schedule to support manufacturing, installation, and testing of our products.
* Develop and maintain close working relationships with other Design team members and Stakeholders who are working towards the same common goal.
* Working as a team to produce an Integrated Design that meets our client's expectations and agreed set of requirements.
Your skills and experiences:
* Understanding of CAD toolsets and techniques e.g. Foran, Solidworks and Siemens NX etc. in both 2D (Diagrams) and 3D outputs (drawings and models).
* HNC / ONC level or degree qualification in relevant STEM subject or equivalent work experience.
* Understanding of mechanical routed systems at both 2D and 3D level in either piping or HVAC design.
* Experience in Mechanical Compartment Integration / Room Integration and or Engineering Standards at Component / Equipment level.

The Mechanical Designer team:
You will be working in a team that has recognised Mentors / Coaches who are on hand to provide you with on-the-job support or training to ensure you are set up for success within our business. You will report to a Project Leader where you will be working in a team of other Designers at various levels of experience and knowledge who will also support you in your development. The potential career path in this role could see you progressing to a Principal Designer or Assistant Project Leader or other roles within our Business. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
