Job description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Cleaner to join our team at a care home in Bedford. As a Cleaner, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for our residents and staff. Your contribution will directly support the well-being of individuals in a compassionate and caring setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily cleaning duties throughout the care home, including common areas, resident rooms, bathrooms, dining areas and kitchens.
Ensure that all areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, adhering to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Disinfect surfaces, including handrails, door handles and light switches to maintain a safe environment.
Dispose of waste in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
Report any maintenance issues or hazards immediately to the right personnel.
Ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and properly maintained.
Follow care home-specific protocols for infection control to ensure a safe environment for all residents and staff.
Support the care team as needed, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for residents.
Key Skills:
Previous cleaning experience, ideally in a healthcare or care home setting, is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
Good communication skills and positive, proactive attitude.
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
Knowledge of health and safety standards, particulary in relation in infection control.
A caring and respectful attitude towards elderly or vulnerable residents.
ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
