Job title: Trainee Fire Safety Consultant
Salary: £30,000 (£40,000 once fully qualified)
Location: Remote, with regular site visits and visits to our London office. Due to most of our clients being in the South of England, you must be within a commutable distance of London and hold a full UK driving license.

About the role:
Do you have an interest in Construction and/or Fire Safety? Are you looking to start a career within the industry? We are offering a unique opportunity to join our team as a Trainee and start your career as a Fire Safety Consultant.
Over the course of 12-18 months, you will enroll on our internal training program, with the support of an experienced mentor. You will gain exposure across multiple regular site visits, whilst completing internal modules and learning opportunities. In addition, Ashton Fire will cover the cost of your Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety, through our external training provider.
The role requires someone who is dedicated to learning and developing within the field. Once you have completed your Level 4 Diploma and our internal training pathway, you will become a Fire Safety Consultant, with a starting salary of £40,000, and will continue your journey as a certified and competent member of the team.
Principle Accountabilities as a Trainee Fire Safety Consultant:
* Attend and complete all external courses necessary (online and in-person) to achieve the Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety.
* Complete internal training, study, and presentation packages in accordance with designated timescales.
* Work proactively with a mentor(s) and other members of the business.
* Attend project sites as required throughout all stages of your development.
* Build a working knowledge of all applicable fire safety and construction material relevant to your work and role including Regulations, Guidance and Standards.
* Work towards becoming CSCS qualified in the early weeks and months of your career.
* Attend Ashton Fire Offices and events as required by the business.
Skills you will bring:
* A keen desire and interest to start a career in Fire Safety.
* Previous experience and/or qualifications in fire safety and/or construction/surveying would be advantageous.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Software Suite.
* Strong and proficient ability in Maths and English (5 GCSEs minimum Grades A-C / Grades 5-9).
* Full clean UK driving license.
* CSCS card holder – Management/Supervisor/Professionally qualified person
* Good problem-solving abilities and analytically minded.
Life after completing your training and becoming a qualified Fire Safety Consultant:
The role of Fire Safety Consultant will encompass the pre-occupancy construction aspects of Fire Safety Consultancy. Within construction, you will cover a range of inspection types from fire safety construction site inspections, external wall and internal compartmentation surveys, and construction phase FRA (HSG168 and JCoP Construction/renovation 10th Edition) and may also involve invasive investigative works. Base work will be construction fire safety inspections and other areas will evolve as your competency and knowledge develops. The role outputs over your career will include new build projects, legacy projects, and renovations.
As a Fire Safety Consultant, you will carry out fire safety inspections within the built environment across a range of premises covering: (not exhaustive) - residential, commercial, retail, government (where necessary), industrial, and medical.
