Caithness General is a well-equipped 41 bedded Rural General Hospital with facilities including a busy Out Patient and Near Me Department, Emergency Department, 24 hour CT scanning, Acute Admissions Ward, Post-Acute/Rehabilitation Ward, Theatre Suite, Day-Case Unit, Renal Unit, Systemic Therapies Unit, Laboratory and Pharmacy services.
We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic and competent staff nurses to join our friendly teams within Caithness General Hospital, Wick. There are various Fixed Term and Permanent posts available.
As a staff nurse, you will be supported in completing further training as required and gaining the experience needed to deliver a high standard of evidence based patient centred care. Caithness is currently in the process of redesigning its services and this is an exciting time to join our team and be involved in this period of evolving Healthcare in the remote and rural setting.
Caithness gives the chance to live in a rural community that boasts beautiful scenery, unique wildlife, the North Coast 500, renowned surfing and even a place to view the aurora borealis.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
