Job Description
The Service & Team:
This role is part of Regulatory Services, within the Neighbourhoods Directorate, which brings together a range of the functions of Cornwall Council to help residents to live vibrant and safe lives in a thriving and sustainable community. This secondment opportunity is funded via the Digital Futures Programme.
The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and organised individual to play a key role in supporting Regulatory Services. This role helps the Service achieve its priorities through project, governance and performance support. You will work closely with the Service Leadership Team (SLT) and have the opportunity to work with other managers across the service and wider council and be involved in a wide range of activities.
You will work with SLT and service managers around various programmes and projects and will ensure high quality governance arrangements are in place and taking forward key actions.
The role-holder will be responsible for preparing and presenting quarterly performance reports, maintaining data across a number of systems, and liaising with managers to support these reviews of performance. You will also coordinate the development of performance measures and targets as part of the Service's annual planning cycle.
The role can work from an office location or from home, but there is a need to attend meetings in council premises on a regular basis.
This role is a 12-month temporary position available due to the secondment of the existing postholder.
What you'll need to succeed:
The successful applicant will be highly organised and proactive, with an ability to prioritise and work on your own initiative to meet deadlines. A proven track record in successful project support, including experience of preparing highlight reports, managing action and risk logs, and delivering against programme and project plans is desirable but training can be provided.
Importantly, you will demonstrate excellent customer service skills, be proactive and willing to learn and have an ability to build effective relationships and influence others. You will be able to use a range of management information systems and reporting tools and be confident communicating in different mediums.
What you'll get in return:
Cornwall Council's ambition is to be an employer of choice, a high performing Council and a learning organisation. We commit to providing a reward and benefits package to attract, motivate and reward our employees. We offer a range of flexible working options to our staff. This helps provide our employees with a greater work/life balance while still ensuring that service needs are met.
Our core employee rewards and benefits include:

2. a defined benefit pension scheme, based on your career average earnings. This includes the option for extra voluntary contributions.
3. a generous annual leave entitlement with the potential to purchase additional leave.
