About the Role
* Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects, ensuring feasibility and alignment with project goals.
* Administer and manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
* Oversee procurement processes, including tendering, evaluating bids, and awarding contracts.
* Monitor actual project costs against the approved budget, identifying and analyzing variances, and implementing cost-saving measures.
* Evaluate and value variations and claims arising from project changes or unforeseen circumstances.
* Prepare and negotiate claims against contractors and subcontractors for additional costs incurred.
* Analyze and respond to claims submitted by contractors, ensuring fairness and compliance with contract terms.
* Potentially lodge claims on behalf of the company if necessary.
* Provide regular reports on cost performance to project managers and stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Minimum [Number] years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a strong focus on heavy highway projects, including major road construction, bridge projects, or tunnel works.
* Deep understanding of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and materials related to heavy highway projects.
* Proficient in using quantity surveying software and have a strong understanding of cost analysis methods, including understanding of complex calculations for large-scale projects.
* Experience in managing contracts and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
* Clear and concise communicator, able to explain cost issues effectively to clients and colleagues.
