Description Overview To deliver great service to our stores through effective coordination of the movement of fleet around the site. You will be responsible for ensuring loading schedules are adhered to in a timely manner and assist in all vehicle servicing and maintenance requirements whilst using a variety of systems and processes to input, produce and maintain accurate information. Working hours - 19:00pm-07:00am - This equates to 40 hours per week. This is on a mixed shift pattern (example below): Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday. Week 2 - Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday. Week 3 - Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday. Week 4 - Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday. How will you contribute? • Manage and ensure the efficiency of trailer availability across the Warehouse Operation • Collaborate effectively with the Warehouse, Transport and Fleet operation, creating and sustaining effective and efficient working relationships • Responsible for liaising with the depot shunting team, providing clear guidance and instructions in a timely manner to enable optimum performance from Warehouse teams • To give priority to exceeding the needs of customers, demonstrating, and promoting a customer focused approach to operational activities • Identify and manage vehicle movements within the site, prioritising as and when necessary, with a responsibility for the correct placement of vehicles • Provide an accurate representation of the site view to ensure operational plans can be met • Support the Operation to ensure that all servicing and maintenance requirements are carried out with a consideration for budget and cost • Collate and present necessary information to the Warehouse Operations Team via the Management Information system • Work as part of the wider operational team to identify and suggest process improvements • Communicate in a timely and effective way, using a variety of methods including telephone, face-to-face, Microsoft Teams or email. • Generate ideas and solutions on how to execute the team strategy within the given standards What will you bring? • An understanding and/or experience in using ‘Yard’ system would be beneficial • PC literacy is essential in order to be able to use the dock scheduling system • Communicate clearly with an ability to adapt your message so the audience can understand the message • Present information and data to colleagues at a variety of levels in an engaging way • Optimism in the face of obstacles or problems in your area • Show enthusiasm and initiative for new ideas and be willing to expand on your knowledge • Ability to build collaborative relationships across multiple teams • Spot opportunities for cost saving or process improvement • Have strong problem-solving skills and be able to make time-critical decisions within given procedures and guidelines to achieve a given outcome • Confidence in your subject matter expertise and can communicate in a coherent and effective manner • An understanding of the Warehouse and Transport function, how this feeds into a Distribution network and the part you play • Ability to apply judgement in planning, organising| and prioritising own workload to meet deadlines • An awareness of health and safety regulations and relevant legislation and understanding of the importance to work within these Our Culture & Benefits In addition to generous remuneration, we really value our people and offer a friendly, safety-first working environment, along with other benefits including company pension scheme, generous holidays, cycle to work scheme, employee benefits include, online discount platform, onsite parking and much more.
