Job Title: Associate Director – Technology Development & Licensing

Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 per annum + Fantastic Benefits

The Role:
As an Associate Director in the field of Life Sciences, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, protecting, developing, and commercialising high-impact innovations originating from world-leading research. You will lead a portfolio of technology transfer life science projects, engaging with key stakeholders, securing funding, and negotiating commercial agreements to bring pioneering technologies to market.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the commercialisation of a diverse portfolio of Life Sciences related innovations.
* Identify, assess, and manage intellectual property (IP) opportunities.
* Negotiate and conclude licensing, collaboration, and investment agreements.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with academics, investors, and industry partners.
* Provide strategic advice on IP protection, including patents and legal frameworks.
* Mentor and support Commercialisation Associates and Managers within the team.
* Work with researchers to secure translational and proof-of-concept funding.
* Represent the organisation at industry events and conferences.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* PhD or significant research experience in Life Sciences.
* Proven experience in technology development, licensing, and commercialisation.
* Strong understanding of IP protection mechanisms and legal agreements.
* Commercial acumen with experience negotiating and closing complex deals.
* Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
* Strong leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; experience with CRM systems is a plus.
