Behavioural Support Assistant – PRU School

A Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Liverpool is looking for a compassionate and committed Behavioural Support Assistant to join their dedicated team. This school provides a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for students who have faced challenges in mainstream education. Through tailored support and a trauma-informed approach, they help each student reach their full potential.
As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of student development—supporting those with behavioural and emotional needs. You'll work closely with staff and students to create a positive, stable, and engaging learning atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
* Implement trauma-informed strategies to support emotional well-being and learning.
* Provide individual and group-based support to help students manage their behaviour and emotions.
* Build trusting, respectful relationships that foster student growth and resilience.
* Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and support teams to design and deliver tailored support plans.
* Apply positive behaviour management techniques to promote self-regulation and progress.
* Inspire and motivate students to set and achieve personal and academic goals.
* Monitor and record student progress, adapting strategies as needed to support ongoing development.
* Experience and understanding of trauma-informed practice and behavioural support.
* A sincere passion for working with students who have struggled in mainstream settings.
* Patience, empathy, and emotional resilience in challenging situations.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* A positive, proactive approach to teamwork and problem-solving.
* Ability to build meaningful relationships with young people and earn their trust.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
