As Deliveroo scales rapidly, we’re looking for Engineering Managers to lead, build, and grow teams of world-class engineers. Our teams are solving unique and difficult problems and you will be responsible for their technical execution and impact through ambiguity.
We're looking for Engineering Managers to manage both local and remote teams, with management experience at all levels of experience, from managing one or two teams to leading at a group level.
This role is based in our London office, with the requirement to be in the office at least 3 days a week. You will report into a Senior Engineering Manager.
The role:
* As a manager you will lead one or more teams of Backend, iOS, Android, and/or Web Engineers, building our first-ever server-driven UI components.
* Improve our build, test, and release processes for mobile apps.
* Liaise with a number of product designers, managers in addition to engineering managers and engineers themselves to achieve the right solution and the right outcomes.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors.
* Contribute to project goals and continue to support and mentor your team.
* Guide the technical strategy of your team across iOS and Android.
* Enable your team to hit targets for group-level goals and metrics.
* Contribute to code reviews and be willing to write code, if needed.
* Build dashboards (DataDog, snowflake, looker, etc), if needed.
* Grow a diverse, accomplished group of engineers, gaining fantastic exposure to scaling a tech team at a unique pace.
* Create a learning environment for your team and act as a mentor for engineers and up-and-coming leaders.
* Become instrumental in improving and implementing processes and values that scale.
* Provide technical mentorship to engineers building and deploying large-scale projects internationally.
* Work with teams across product, design, operations, and more.
