Radley College invites applications for a Teacher of Computer Science to join the department from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a friendly and collegiate school community.
The Computer Science department at Radley College is a dynamic and ambitious team, having introduced the AQA GCSE in 2020 and now looking forward to expanding its curriculum with the launch of A Level Computer Science in 2025. This role offers the exciting opportunity to be part of this growth, mentoring students as they explore the subject through GCSE courses, enrichment lessons, and advanced sixth-form projects.
The successful candidate will first and foremost be an excellent teacher. Enthusiasm for the subject is naturally important and a candidate should be a confident practical programmer and enjoy showing the beauty and intrigue of computation through their teaching and extra-curricular pursuits. As a boarding school, we are looking for someone who is prepared to throw themselves wholeheartedly into the life of the College. Radley is a community and those who get most out of it - whether as boys or as teachers - are those who are prepared to embrace the breadth of the education that Radley offers.
The opportunity exists to be part of the growth of the department and contribute greatly to the establishment of the new course.
This position comes with accommodation which is free of rent, council tax and water rates as well as a competitive salary scale and other staff benefits.
The deadline for applications is 12 noon, Thursday 6 February 2025, but we reserve the right to consider applications as they arrive. If you have any questions or would like to discuss the vacancy please email the Head of Department, Alastair Vaan (aav.vaan@radley.org.uk). Interviews will take place on Tuesday 11 February 2025.
