About Swanky Agency Swanky is one of the world’s most experienced full-service international Shopify Plus teams, having worked exclusively with Shopify for over a decade, and a portfolio including Huel, HelloFresh and Wilkinson Sword. We have a global team of over 60 located in the UK, Australia and France. Our full-service proposition includes both “Launch” (replatforming and new store creation) and “Grow” (tailored growth support delivered via monthly retainers), with roughly 50% of group revenue attributable to each. We serve mid-market and enterprise retailers, with a particular opportunity to grow our enterprise practice as Shopify continues to move upmarket and the ecosystem welcomes more large retailers and global technology consultancies. Swanky has been through a period of transformation and professionalisation under the leadership of Dan Partridge (appointed CEO in 2021) and is quickly evolving from an agency into a systems integrator. This journey is reflected in our strategic partnerships, including our recently-announced strategic alliance with fusefabric and our enterprise technology partnerships. About the Role For the last 12 years Swanky has operated with a Founder-led sales model, led by Dan McIvor. All our client work to date has originated via inbound enquiries and introductions, generated through a combination of industry-leading thought leadership, hundreds of successful case studies, client referrals and SaaS partnerships. We currently operate a ‘team based’ approach to new business, with a core team coordinating responses to inbound enquiries and drawing in expert team members as required. We’ve preferred ‘solutions’ language to more traditional ‘sales’ terminology, reflecting the inbound nature of our pipeline and the consultative nature of our new business conversations. To support our next phase of growth we are looking for a senior commercial leader who can embody the best parts of what makes us Swanky but with enhanced commercial acumen. We are now looking to appoint an experienced sales leader to help us capitalise on the opportunity to rapidly accelerate our growth through wining non-organic accounts, to include: Identifying and engaging ICP retailers in the UK, EMEA and US who would benefit from Swanky’s services; Working closely with our SaaS partners and internal teams to identify shared prospects/target accounts, and then seamlessly progress and close deals; Helping to further formalise and accelerate our go-to-market motion, leveraging and maturing our events strategy and nascent outbound flywheel; Coordinating our team to help us more effectively organise and manage our pipeline of inbound opportunities and internal reporting, including in our Australian team; Collaborating effectively with our delivery teams to ensure successful handover of all new opportunities into production; and Tell us what we don't know about building an enterprise sales pipeline, and show us how we can sustainably mobilise the Swanky team to win more clients whilst continuing to deliver a best-in-class service. About You - Qualifications and Experience Significant experience in a quota-hitting sales role within the ecommerce industry (either in a SaaS or consultancy business), with a strong understanding of the Shopify ecosystem and its capabilities; Deep knowledge of ecommerce trends, platforms, and technologies, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences alike (e.g. third party systems integration, B2B, conversion rate optimisation, marketing attribution and analytics); Highly inquisitive and winsome personality, equally comfortable in highly detailed functional scoping and bigger picture commercial conversations; Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to build rapport (and ultimately long-term relationships) with senior executives and buying committees in retail clients and prospects; Strong EQ and culture fit, with the leadership skills and vision to help navigate a rapidly-maturing agency away from a Founder-led sales model; Patient and ambitious in equal measure - Swanky has an ambitious 3-year revenue growth plan, but we have strong convictions that the quality of our work cannot suffer by virtue of winning work that doesn’t best fit our strengths, so your ability to qualify well (to help us grow fast and sustainably) is paramount; A team player who brings the best out of those around them (this is a “player” rather than “coach” role, but you’ll be a great team captain who inspires and nurtures others, with room for progression as we continue to scale); and Diligent and organised, with impeccable CRM management and reporting.
