Job overview
There is an exciting opportunity to join this friendly department. The post holder will contribute to the provision of a high quality gastroenterology service for Lincolnshire, working closely with full-time colleagues on each site. The appointee will be expected to join the GI bleed rota on a 1:6 basis. Applicants with interests in hepato-biliary disease, nutrition or advanced endoscopy techniques would be particularly welcome.
Any applicant who is unable for personal reasons to work full time will be eligible to be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.
We are keen to appoint candidates with the following skills: ERCP, EUS and Capsular Endoscopy.
Main duties of the job
The successful post-holder will:
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide a consultant-led service with the highest standards of patient care
* Work with the multi-professional team to develop care pathways and clinical guidelines
* Develop and maintain good working practices
* Collaborate and promote close working links with colleagues in tertiary centres, community services and primary care
* Provide support and leadership to junior medical colleagues, nursing colleagues and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
Person specification
Qualification
* MRCP (UK) or equivalent
* Fully registered with the GMC with Licence to Practice
* CCT Gastroenterology or equivalent (or within 6 months of eligibility for specialist register)
* Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register via CCT/CESR/European Community Rights
* An appropriate higher degree e.g. an MD, PhD or equivalent
* Sub specialty accreditation
* Experience in GI motility and Functional Bowel Disorders
Experience
* Able to perform a wide range of diagnostic and Therapeutic upper & lower GI endoscopic procedures
* Advanced therapeutic endoscopic procedures
Teaching
* Experience in teaching undergraduates and Post graduate trainees.
