Uniphar are looking for an experienced DevOpsEngineer to assist in the maintenance and expansion of our platformand infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess skills inmaintaining a Java-based application built using Spring, and anability to maintain, support and improve the infrastructure throughwhich the application is built, tested, deployed andmonitored.
Working as part of an agile team, theDevOps Engineer will liaise with colleagues contribute as anindividual developer, and work with the Technical Architect andother stakeholders to understand and improve our operations overtime. There is a diversity of requirements on our road map, and thechosen candidate can expect to alternate focus between contributingtowards the development of the application's suite of RESTfulAPI's, using best practices such as TDD and CI/CD, and improvingthe surrounding infrastructure, delivered in AWS using Aurora, EC2,ELB, Terraform, Tomcat, Apache, and other associatedtechnologies.
Responsibilities
* Workwith colleagues to identify requirements forfeatures.
* Maintain and expand our suite ofRESTful APIs
* Apply SOLID design principles andTDD to implement new features in our Java-based platform leveragingSpring and Hibernate.
* Design alterations to ourMySQL database schema, using Flyway forversioning.
* Undertake Proofs of Concepts fornew technologies.
* Support the evolution of ourCI/CD Pipelines, currently delivered using Jenkins, Maven, Nexus,S3, Make, EC2, Selenium, Cucumber, etc.
* Helpkeep our Infrastructure up to date with evolving cloud landscape,and improve our offering across such features as backups,monitoring, networking, alerting, security, versioning,deployments, etc.
* Participate in code review,daily remote standups, and fortnightly retrospectives, demosand
* planning meetings.
* Helpestablish agreed standards and ways of working. Improvedocumentation to ease the developerexperience.
Requirements

* Excellent communicationskills.
* Experience working with AWS - ELB, RDS,EC2, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, VPN, Route 53, S3, Cognito,etc.
* Linuxexperience.
* History working with CI/CDpipelines.
* Strong ability to code inJava.
* Knowledge of, and ability to apply, goodcoding practices (SOLID design principles, design patterns, TDD,etc) to produce modularised, extensible, easily-understoodcode.
* Familiarity with Spring andenterprise-level coding considerations - transactions, memoryusage, aspect-oriented programming, logging, security, role-basedaccess control, etc.
* Experience designing andimplementing RESTful APIs.
* History usingversion control (git), build and dependency management(Maven).
* Familiarity with RDBMS (MySQL) andperformance considerations.
* Experience workingin an agile environment.
* Familiarity withdatabase schema versioning (e.g.Flyway).
* Experience with the Atlassian suite -JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc.
* Familiaritywith OpenAPI/Swagger, Postman
* Familiarity withauthentication technologies - JWTs, OAuth, OIDC,MFA.
