Description Utilities Project Proposal Engineer The Utilities Project Proposal Engineer is responsible for preparing and submitting proposals for engineering projects to potential clients. The job involves researching and analysing project requirements, developing technical solutions and cost estimates, and presenting proposals to clients. You will be expected to provide the timely delivery of technical proposals to our global sales team and customers, complying with specifications and tender deadlines. This role can be based either from our Belfast or Glasgow location, and possibly hybrid opportunity following a successful immersion and probation period. Here’s where you’ll demonstrate your proficiency: Managing your daily quotation and tender priorities set with customer expectations from daily Gemba. Ensuring that quotations are prepared accurately and in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. Developing and implementing strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the quotation process. Managing relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure that quotations are prepared and submitted in a timely and professional manner. Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to the preparation and submission of quotations. Developing and maintaining a database of quotations and related documentation. Reviewing and approving quotations before they are submitted to clients. Collaborating with other departments within the organization to ensure that quotations are aligned with overall business objectives. Keeping up to date with industry trends and best practices related to the preparation and submission of quotations. Performing other duties as assigned by senior management. BS degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field is required. MS degree is preferred. Skills & Experience The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience: Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience of completing technical proposals and working as part of a commercial team, ideally with expertise in technical customer service/ commercial operations role. Preference will be given to those with knowledge and experience working or serving the utility Transmission, Distribution or Power Generation industries. Excellent organizational and leadership skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Good understanding of IT and communication protocols, comfortable around instrumentation and using basic programming tools where necessary. Proven track record on how to influence, engage and motivate colleagues and customers to seek out the right solutions Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders are also essential. Problem solving and advanced troubleshooting skills in technical and process related issues Experience with CRM case management e.g. Salesforce.com and Oracle is preferred. Excellent excel and Microsoft word skills required.
