Role Overview
As a Freelance Copywriter II, you will be a vital creative partner responsible for producing high-quality, persuasive copy that resonates with diverse target audiences. You will work closely with our marketing, design, and product teams to develop compelling content that drives brand engagement, bolsters product launches, and increases conversion rates. This position is designed for experienced copywriters who can manage multiple projects and adapt their voice to different channels, while working autonomously in a fully remote setting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Content Creation & Strategy:
1. Develop engaging copy for a range of digital and print projects including website content, landing pages, email campaigns, social media posts, product descriptions, and case studies.
2. Translate technical product details and marketing messages into clear, persuasive language that aligns with Descending Tech’s brand tone and strategic goals.
3. Collaborate in brainstorming sessions and provide strategic input to develop content ideas that convert readers into customers.
2. Research & SEO Optimization:
1. Conduct thorough industry research and competitor analysis to identify key messaging, keywords, and trends.
2. Ensure all copy is optimized for search engines, following best practices for on-page SEO and conversion optimization.
3. Editing & Quality Assurance:
1. Proofread and revise content meticulously for clarity, accuracy, grammar, and stylistic consistency prior to final submission.
2. Implement client or team feedback promptly, ensuring that every piece of content meets the highest quality standards.
4. Project Management & Collaboration:
1. Manage multiple projects concurrently while adhering to agreed deadlines.
2. Act as a liaison between internal teams (marketing, design, product) to ensure that copy aligns with overall campaign and branding strategies.
3. Maintain organized records of drafts, revisions, and approved final versions using project management tools.
Qualifications & Experience
1. Experience:
1. A minimum of 2–4 years professional copywriting experience in a creative agency or in-house marketing environment.
2. Proven track record of delivering successful copy across multiple digital and print media.
3. Strong portfolio that demonstrates versatility across different writing styles and industries (technology, consumer electronics, SaaS, etc.).
2. Skills:
1. Excellent command of the English language with native or near-native fluency.
2. Demonstrable expertise in SEO copywriting, digital marketing trends, and social media strategies.
3. Advanced research, storytelling, and editorial skills.
4. Highly self-motivated with strong organizational and time management abilities, able to work independently in a remote environment.
5. Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Trello, Asana) and content management systems (CMS) is an asset.
