Are you an experienced pharmacist with an interest in Mental Health?
Do you want to be a part of our Primary and Community Mental Health Service for people with Serious Mental Illness?
Are you keen to work with voluntary sector partners to support people in their local communities?
This post is open to qualified mental health pharmacists and clinical pharmacists looking to expand their knowledge and expertise in this area.
There will be opportunities to complete additional training courses tailored to individual learning needs, including the Mental Health Specialist Pharmacist Training Pathway and the Independent Prescribing course.
Regular clinical supervision with a consultant psychiatrist will be offered, along with clinical and line management supervision from the Lead Pharmacist in the team.
Reduced hours and flexible working will be considered.
Main duties of the job
You will:
* Have a passion for partnership working to ensure people with serious mental illness are supported to live well in their communities.
* Work in a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals to provide care for those with SMI within Primary Care Networks in Sheffield.
* Be part of an experienced team of mental health pharmacists to provide the following interventions:
* Work directly with SMI patients to provide mental health medication review and optimisation.
* Create patient-centred care treatment plans with a trauma-informed approach.
* Implement changes in collaboration with the patient, reviewing outcomes and stabilising medication regimens.
* Provide prescribing advice and recommendations based on up-to-date evidence.
* Support and advise colleagues within your team.
* Take a leadership role in improving mental health prescribing.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will focus on medicines optimisation in Mental Health. They will liaise with all Sheffield Accountable Care Partnership organisations to:
* Support the development and work with existing pathways, protocols and guidelines.
* Work with health and social care providers to promote existing and develop new tools.
* Promote and deliver the principles of STOMP/ STAMP.
* Provide support, clinical expertise and educational sessions in primary care networks.
* Support the transition of patients across care settings.
* Provide expert advice around prescribing in Mental Health conditions.
* Utilise local intelligence and data to target areas of Mental Health Prescribing.
Person specification
Training, Qualifications and Registration
* Masters Degree in Pharmacy (MPharm) or equivalent pharmacy degree
* Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Relevant post-registration qualification
* Membership of the College of Mental Health Pharmacy
* Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS)
* Registered Prescriber
Knowledge and Skills
* High level of clinical pharmacy skills and knowledge
* Competent interpersonal skills
* Ability to supervise and mentor staff
* Effective verbal and written communication skills
Experience
* Significant post-registration experience in clinical pharmacy practice
* Evidence of working as part of a clinical team
* Experience in delivering MH training
* Experience of clinical pharmacy practice in mental health
Other
* Be conscientious and methodical in their approach to work
* Be flexible and adaptable regarding changes in practice
* Be able to travel to all areas of the Trust in a timely manner
