This is a new role and the postholder will be part of small team who will ensure the smooth running of the Trust's corporate governance services. The postholder will provide corporate governance expertise and support to the organisation to ensure the continuing development of the governance framework for the organisation and ensure that it meets a high standard of compliance with regulatory and legal requirements. The postholder will provide support to the Trust Board and its committees and the Council of Governors and it's committees, so they run effectively. They will deputise for the Associate Director of Corporate Governance when needed and line manage the office of the Chairman. Main duties of the job In conjunction with the Associate Director of Corporate Governance the post holder will ensure the delivery and continuing development of a high performing corporate governance function ensuring compliance with all annual and ad-hoc statutory and legislative requirements and be a point of contact to advise on Corporate Governance policies, regulatory and statutory requirements. The post holder will support the Trust Secretariat function (Trust Board and Council of Governors) including providing a comprehensive administrative service, effective functioning of the Trust's corporate meeting cycle and providing a high level of professional support for all board and executive committee meetings. An important requirement of the role will be to build positive working relationships with our Governors and support them in delivering their responsibilities.
