Responsibilities:
* Generating opportunities, preparation of tenders and over-seeing the delivery and management of a range of ecological deliverables (technical, commercial, and financial) in support of our clients' projects.
* Providing site- and office-based support to develop and mentor junior team members.

Due to an interesting, varied and expanding workload in Ireland, our client is looking to grow their ecology presence in Ireland, and is looking for a Team Leader to manage five Ecologists/Environmental Specialists in Ireland who are currently working from Naas and Belfast. You would be supported by the well-established Scottish team, numbering over 30 individuals, and the wider UK & Ireland Ecology Team, numbering 200+ individuals. The Scottish and Irish Ecology team has several Chartered individuals, the Scottish CIEEM Vice President, several active CIEEM committee members, several bat-licensed tree climbers, licensed badger and newt ecologists, protected fauna specialist, Biodiversity Net Gain specialists, an arborist, aquatic ecologists, ornithologists, terrestrial ecologists, and Appropriate Assessment specialists. The Ecology team supports a diverse range of projects across numerous sectors in Ireland and internationally for both private and public sector clients. The team prides themselves on the integrated support we offer by working alongside our in-house water, landscape, arboriculture, and sustainability specialists to deliver commercially balanced, innovative, and integrated solutions.
You will be part of the Ireland Environment Leadership team with a group of 20 professionals delivering projects across several sectors.
Qualifications:
* A minimum of 10 to 12 years' post graduation working experience.
* Previous working experience in the Irish and/or British context.
* A passion for leading and team and supporting ecologists of all grades to develop and progress in their careers.
* Experience across a range of Irish habitats and protected species and hold (or have held) protected species licences.
* A proven record of supporting clients through devising and delivering survey programmes, developing pragmatic, cost-effective mitigation, gaining the agreement of regulators and supervising implementation on-site.
* Experience of Ecological Impact Assessment and writing Environmental Statement chapters.
* Experience of Appropriate Assessment.
* A proven record of winning work from commercial clients, particularly in the residential, mixed use and industrial sectors.
