Job summary We are looking for highly motived general radiographers to work in our busy department in York. York is a wonderful city within North Yorkshire, an area renowned for its beaches, National Parks, and history. We are a multi-disciplinary team of clinical and non-clinical staff who provide high quality, user-friendly diagnostic radiology service. We are a friendly inclusive team with a great skill mix which helps us support each other to provide excellent patient centred care. Newly qualified students are encouraged to apply as are more experienced radiographers (banding for more experienced staff would be subject to experience and transferrable skills). Interviews for this position will be held in person ONLY at one of our North Yorkshire sites. Remote interviews will not be available Main duties of the job As part of the radiology team, you will be required to work flexibly throughout the general department including Theatres, Fluoroscopy, Dexa, and the Emergency Department. You will be expected to participate in the general out of hours rota which provides a service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You will work across our York satellite sites such as Selby, Clifton Park Hospital, and the new CDC site at Askham Bar. We are a forward-thinking department that values our staff and are committed to advanced practice with a number of Radiographers currently undertaking extended roles. As a department we encourage the progression of our radiographers to develop from a Band 5 (Preceptor) to Band 6 (Specialist) via a supported competency-based run through. Opportunities exist for Radiographers to undertakefunded post-graduate study in all modalities. Recent qualifications obtained by staff include post graduate certificates in MRI, CT, Forensics and Image Reporting. We currently support students in their training from the Universities of Leeds and Hull. Staff are given training and support to become mentors and assessors.
