An exciting opportunity has arisen in Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CWP) for a motivated and dedicated pharmacy technician to join our team of specialist technicians and pharmacists, in providing high quality clinical pharmacy services.

The post holder will work on the Mother and Baby Unit, a specialist provision for women with mental health problems during pregnancy and/or in the year after their baby is born. Patients in the postnatal period will have their babies with them during their time as an inpatient on the Mother and Baby Unit.
Main duties of the job
This position offers the chance to develop clinical and operational skills within mental health. You will be expected to routinely undertake medicines reconciliations, check patient’s medicines for suitability of reuse and order medicines for patients. You will also be expected to work with the Mother and Baby Unit to ensure patients receive appropriate information about their medicines.
Applicants should be able to work within a team, be proactive and have a keen interest in perinatal mental health. Applicants must also be a registered practising pharmacy technician with the GPhC. This part-time post will be based at Seren Lodge Mother and Baby Unit, Countess of Chester Health Park, Chester.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Foundation Degree in medicines management or BTech/NVQ Level III in Pharmaceutical Sciences
* Registered as a practising Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* Accredited accuracy checking qualification for dispensed medicines
Knowledge and Expertise
* Good IT skills - Windows, word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, email and web-applications
* Evidence of CPD
Experience
* Post qualification experience of ward based services
* Experience in training staff
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
