Job Title: Probation Officer

Job Summary:
Responsible for the supervision of offenders sentenced to terms of probation, or other offenders as ordered by the court through the Probation Division of Court Services. Collaborate with offenders to ensure appropriate delivery of services and targeted interventions. Also responsible for preparing accurate and timely reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS, BBS, BSW, etc.) from an accredited college or university, preferably with major course work in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, social work, or the related social sciences prior to application
2. Good oral and written communication skills
3. Organizational skills
4. Able to drive and possess a motor vehicle and a valid driver’s license
5. Subject to a criminal background check, psychological test, and pre-employment drug screening test
6. Complete an Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts (AOIC) Application, and be on the AOIC Certified list prior to hiring
7. Be a U.S. citizen
8. Reside in the State of Illinois within six months of hiring
Starting Salary And Benefits:
$53,003.00 per year (union position)
