Basic Salary: £107,144 - £142,369 per annum + on-call supplement (5% of full time salary)

Borders General Hospital is a modern and well-equipped 284 bed DGH serving the rural Borders area in South East Scotland, approximately 36 miles from Edinburgh.
The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh is a busy tertiary unit which supports around 6000 deliveries a year and offers a wide range of specialist obstetric and gynaecology services.
The Role
This exciting new post is based in the Borders General Hospital, with scheduled time in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. This provides the benefits of being part of a friendly, close-knit team in a district general hospital with the opportunity of also developing an area of specialist interest in a tertiary unit.
The BGH Obstetrics and Gynaecology department is supported by 2 Specialty Doctors, 4 Specialty Registrars, on the South East of Scotland Training Scheme, along with GPSTs and Foundation trainees. There is 24-hour Obstetric Anaesthetic cover, full neonatal cover and an 8 cot SCBU on site.
We have close links with the major acute teaching hospital in Edinburgh and in the job plan 2 programmed activities are dedicated to your specialist interest in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
The candidate must hold MRCOG or equivalent and must also be registered with the General Medical Council with a licence to practice on the Specialist Register for Obstetrics and Gynaecology before taking up the post or in training within 6 months of expected date of obtaining CCT or equivalent. We are seeking candidates with general obstetrics and gynaecology skills but in addition a special interest in benign gynaecology operating or maternal medicine.
