Building Services Engineer (HVAC)

Purpose of the job: The Building Services Engineer is key in providing a design engineering service. The Building Services Engineer is responsible for the production of discipline-specific design and engineering deliverables to support the project.
Main purpose of the role: The Engineer is principally a hands-on design-based role with a degree of team leadership. The Engineer is responsible for delivering a package of work within a project within their discipline. Frequent liaison with other disciplines in the design team and the client would be expected. The engineers are the main interface between senior management and hands-on design.
Key Accountabilities:
* Development of designs to satisfy the technical specification.
* Production of design deliverables throughout the design process.
* Checking of basic design calculations.
* Contribution to design reviews and safety reviews.
* Preparation of technical specifications.
* Preparation of installation, commissioning, and operating documents.
* Ensuring quality and timely delivery of design documentation throughout all phases of the design process.
* Compliance with safety and statutory regulations.
* Develop cost-effective technical solutions.
* Provide support during site surveys, installation, and commissioning.
Occupational Skills and Knowledge:
* HNC (minimum) in a relevant technical/engineering discipline or demonstrable experience.
* Associate membership of a discipline-specific engineering institution.
Duties and Requirements:
Essential:
* Knowledge of the fundamentals within your engineering discipline.
* Previous experience in the design of Building Services (including Ventilation and piped services).
* Good understanding of safety legislation and statutory regulations.
* Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
* Commercial awareness.
* Knowledge and experience of design software (typically AutoCAD or similar).
Desirable:
* Degree Qualified in a relevant technical/engineering discipline.
* Experience in the nuclear industry.
* Management of design teams in the technical delivery of projects.
* Management of sub-contractors.
* Knowledge and use of REVIT software.
* Knowledge and use of IESVE design software.
* Construction site experience.
