The Opportunity
You will lead and oversee safe manufacturing operations for Hydrogen ensuring On Target in Full (OTIF) performance and a strong focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement in a rapid growth environment.
In addition to driving efficiency and effectiveness in manufacturing processes, meeting production targets, and optimising resource utilisation. The Operations Manager ensures our customers’ needs are met by collaborating with our sales teams and liaising directly with customers.
You will be responsible for;
Taking overall accountability for the OTIF performance ensuring optimum quality standards are maintained.
Providing leadership and direction to the site, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Leading the site based customer services team to support a service based business to business model in collaboration with the wider Advance Materials customer services team.
Collaborating with other departments, such as sales, supply chain, and engineering, to develop integrated production plans and to forecast production requirements and ensure adequate capacity planning.
Optimising the utilisation of resources, including machinery, equipment, raw materials, and labour, to achieve production targets.
Continuously evaluating operational processes for efficiency and quality improvement opportunities and implement necessary changes.
Establishing and implementing KPI and quality control measures to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
Taking ownership of site maintenance and facilities supporting the next phase of production equipment and manufacturing excellence.
Fostering a culture of collaborative working with our other sites including manufacturing operations in the US and the wider James Cropper Group in the UK
What will make you successful?
Previous experience in an operational leadership role within an industrial manufacturing or technology led sector is essential, additionally;
Strong organisational and project management skills to prioritise tasks and plan scheduling effectively
Experienced in leading and inspiring teams in a rapidly changing technical manufacturing environment
Forward thinking approach with proven knowledge and experience in the application of continuous improvement systems, standards and tools such as LEAN and experience in executing and monitoring these through production teams
Excellent influencing, relationship building and communication skills
Flexible mind-set and quickly adaptable to changing needs of projects
Commercial awareness and an ability to work closely with customers and sales teams to ensure we deliver on our agreed commitments
