The School and Role:
Vision for Education is looking to recruit supply SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a flexible basis in a variety of roles; day-to-day cover, short-term placements, and long-term placements either full-time or part-time. We work with a variety of SEND schools and provisions across northeast areas that support children aged 2-19 years who have a SEND diagnosis, which could include Autism, ADHD, moderate learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, PMLD, communication and language difficulties, physical difficulties, visual or hearing impairments, medical and complex needs, SEMH, and challenging behaviour.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working on a small class-sized basis or on a 1-2-1 basis supporting children with their academic, personal, emotional, and social development. You will assist the class teacher with supporting teaching and learning, lead small group and 1:1 interventions, and assist pupils with their individual needs, including personal care. You will be responsible for behaviour management, supporting the progress of pupils, liaising with staff and parents, and participating in weekly CPD sessions.
Requirements:
1. Relevant Level 2 Qualification is desirable but not essential: Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant / Level 2 or 3 Health and Social Care / Level 2 or 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning / Level 2 or 3 Childcare
2. Experience of working with EYFS, primary, secondary, or Post-16 school-aged children.
3. Experience of working with SEND pupils.
4. A passion for the progress of SEND pupils.
5. Ability to work as part of a team.
