As a result of continued growth, the Facades team is looking to add a Design Planner to their team. You will be a pivotal member of the team that manages and streamlines the design workload of each of the design teams in line with the project expectations. The design team contains 100+ personnel and you will be managing the workload of each of the teams in cooperation with the technical managers and the project planners. You will be reporting to senior management within ASFD and McMullen.
The Facades team offers a complete façade solution for the Commercial and Residential market, from initial preliminary design and manufacture to practical site completion, utilising many materials including SFS, Stick Curtain Wall, Unitised elements, and various rain screen, cladding and fenestration systems.
The successful candidate will be joining the existing teams of passionate and dedicated Planners and Technical Managers. As a Design Planner you will provide programmes, analysis of programmes and communication within the teams as required by the senior management within ASFD and the Planning team. The Design Planning role is relatively a new position in the group that requires flexibility and good technical skills as well as good communication skills.
You’ll be based mainly in the head office with occasional trips to our design team locations when required.
Due to expansion, we are seeking a Planner to join our team.
Responsibilities:
* Support the planning function, which involves creating and managing project schedules at a detailed level.
* Maintain, process and coordinate information from different entities.
* Work closely with senior management, project teams, design teams and sub-contractors to maintain accurate and up to date data for different stages of projects.
* Track and evaluate progress of live sites and the pre-construction phases.
* Apply agreed planning standards and ensure they are adopted and embedded across the programmes.
* Become a HS&E Certified professional to be able to be on sites.
* Familiarize with the cohesion between details and the final products.
* Documenting and archiving planning related documents.
* Participating in meetings with Main Contractors, Suppliers etc to discuss the project details.
* Liaising with manufacturers, suppliers and site staff for the duration of the project.
* Completing other duties as may be reasonably required commensurate with the jobholder’s level assigned by senior staff.
Requirements:
* Qualifications - HNC level qualification or above, preferably in construction or engineering related subject.
* Residential experience preferable, but not necessary.
* Key Skills – Experience in Microsoft Office (essential). Quick learner (essential). Technically minded with high attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (Essential). Ability to work effectively both alone and contributing to a team environment. Ability to read technical drawings.
