The Senior Credit Risk Analyst will be responsible for credit underwriting, credit risk management and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.

The senior credit risk analyst will undertake a key role as a senior member of the team responsible for credit underwriting, credit risk management and reporting ensuring legal and regulatory compliance. You will contribute to the evolving strategic framework of the credit risk function by active participation in transformation and continuous improvement projects.
As a senior member of the team you will play a pivotal role in maintaining a strong relationship with internal and external stakeholders, act as a mentor to the junior analysts in the team, fostering a culture of ideas and innovation.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
* Analyse and assess counterparties’ credit worthiness, primarily through analysis of their financial statements and prepare written Credit Approval Request on regular basis and continuous monitoring of counterparty status.
* Work with and support commercial teams to understand and estimate resulting risk from business relationship.
* Recommend appropriate credit rating, mitigation measures (like cash deposit, group or bank guarantees, or insurance), required credit limit and approve the limits in accordance to the received mandates.
* Create and prepare periodic and ad-hoc Credit Risk reports and monitor limit utilisation and working proactively to mitigate potential limit breaches and ensure transparent reporting to key stakeholders.
* Interaction and alignment with other support functions (mainly Risk internal, Treasury, Legal, Product Control) to assess and mitigate credit risk.
* Regular review of internal credit risk policy - proactively identifying opportunities for mitigating credit risk whilst allowing for managed growth.
* Managing complex transformation and improvement projects related to credit risk and requiring coordination with external suppliers and internal departments. Requirement to be able to autonomously drive projects and present workable results within defined timelines.
* To be aware of and comply with all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to SEFE Data protection policy, Equal opportunities policy, and the Email and Internet Acceptable Usage policy, in addition to Fire and Health and Safety Regulations.
* The role holder may also be required to carry out any other duties within the scope and purpose of this role as requested by their line manager and in line with business needs.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Proven experience in credit or finance role either within an energy company, bank or rating agency. Experience and familiarity with the energy/commodity trading markets (particularly natural gas, power, oil, or LNG) is an advantage.
* Good understanding of the key elements of Credit Risk Management practices and framework
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex problems, produce accurate written credit analysis documents, and deliver solutions.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
* Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in analyzing and interpreting financial data.
* Proficient in MS Office suite, particularly Excel, for financial analysis, modelling and reporting purposes.
* Ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously when required.
* Reliable usage of provided mandates to make credit decisions.
