In Corporate and Government Affairs, we bring our corporate brand to life by making a positive impact in an inclusive, collaborative and engaging way, guided by our purpose. To do this, we invite our corporate and government stakeholders to work in partnership with us, acting as advisors, beneficiaries as well as critical friends on our journey. Working under the leadership of, and in close collaboration with, our Director - Global Corporate and Government Affairs, you will be instrumental in shaping an engaging mix of initiatives that establishes pladis as a credible, capable and trustworthy partner whose expertise adds critical value to relationships, to communities and to policy processes. Your role will also be critical in driving forward our ambitious sustainability agenda and you will leverage the expertise of colleagues across the business (particularly R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain and Finance) to meet your goals. As one of our most important markets - as well as the seat of our Headquarters - a significant part of your effort will be in the UK, where our footprint includes six manufacturing locations and our Global R&D centre. However, as we expand our programme to other Regions, key markets within them and multilateral stakeholders, you will expect to also work internationally and develop your skills in the global market. We are part of a busy, talented and tight-knit global Corporate Affairs and Sustainability (CAS) team. You will therefore be exposed to, and collaborate with colleagues leading internal communications, external communications and sustainability/ESG. You will have no direct reports but your work will be supported by our public affairs agency partner. What will be your key deliverables? • Own, manage and develop the UK stakeholder engagement programme as a best-practice example for global pladis engagement • Drive strategic Corporate and Government Affairs planning • Own day-to-day management of our UK Public Affairs agency partner • Develop and own a global ‘policy foresights’ process for upcoming policy in areas such as food health, sustainability/ESG and Diversity/Inclusion • Support Executive Committee Members (incl. CEO) in their stakeholder out reach • Own and lead development of key advocacy materials (e.g. submissions, position papers, external briefing documents, presentations, infographics) • Represent CAS on key business projects and lead the team’s delivery • Own and continually improve the global pladis stakeholder map • Own and develop the global Corporate and Government Affairs calendar of activities What do you need for this role? • Demonstrable UK stakeholder engagement expertise, experience and network • Demonstrable experience in project and/or campaign management • In-house or agency public affairs experience • FMCG industry experience desirable • Strong interest in (global) public policy and the political process • Strong interest in sustainability/ESG • Excellent verbal and writing skills (English essential, additional language(s) a plus) • Excellent people management skills and a collaborative bias • A desire to excel in a fast-paced, commercial environment Diversity and inclusion is central to everything we do and is reflected across our business. pladis brings together brands and people from around the globe – and this diversity is our great strength.
